FAQs

Can I receive a Medicare Rebate?

As registered Medicare providers eligible clients can claim a Medicare rebate for counselling sessions. To claim these rebates, you must obtain a referral and Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, Psychiatrist or other specialist. A MHCP allows Medicare to rebate up to 10 sessions each year (approx. 50% of the session fee).  The rebate will be automatically claimed after each therapy session.

What if I or someone I know is in crisis and it is an emergency?

If you cannot book a session time, there is an imminent risk of harm, or if the crisis is after hours, contact emergency services by dialling ‘000’ (within Australia), lifeline on 13 11 44 or present to your hospital’s emergency department.

Where are you located?

Kind Mind is 100% online counselling, there is no physical clinic attached to this practice for convenience and flexibility.

Are therapy outcomes better face to face?

More research is being done in the field of Telehealth due to how our society is changing, and some studies are finding similar therapy outcomes for both Telehealth and face to face therapy approaches. The main ingredient identified has been the quality of the therapeutic relationship between Psychologist and client, the stronger the relationship, the better the treatment outcomes.

It all comes down to personal preference with many clients choosing Telehealth for the convenience and comfort of attending in the privacy of their own home or office. Furthermore, continuity of the relationship can remain even if the client or psychologist relocates.

What if there are no times available which suit my schedule?

Kind Mind Psychology session times are offered weekdays between 9am – 3pm with after hours appointments available Wednesdays.  If however, these times do not suit your schedule, please email info@kindmindonline.com.au to discuss an alternative arrangement as there is usually room for flexibility.

What’s your Privacy Policy?

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that it is sometimes necessary to reschedule your appointment. We request that a minimum of 24 hours notice be provided when rescheduling or cancelling appointments. This allows enough time to allocate the time to someone on our waitlist.

If notice is not given 24hrs prior to the session time, a 50% fee will apply, and failure to attend your scheduled appointment without providing notice, will attract the full session fee.
